Dang Dang Green!

Most educated people don’t beat their kids anymore, but then there are tons of kids who are brutally hit by parents, teachers and other people as well. Well iam not an advocate of corporal punishment but then sometimes just sometimes you need to resort to it to leave a lasting impression. Ive never been hit when I was small, now don’t say that is why iam such a spoilt person, but iam sure when I have a kid and it behaves Real bad, then I shall use my whacking skills, am already practicing.
Around 4-5 years ago, I stayed in a rented flat and the kid above our house used to cry at 7.30 sharp every morning, now this ritual of screams from the 1st floor was like an alarm for us to know it was seven thirty, we found out within a few days that the kid was hit/slapped by her mother every day at 7.30, reason being that she would not brush her teeth if she wasn’t hit, that was the weirdest excuse ever, I would’ve probably taught the kid the reasons and advantages of brushing teeth, the poor kid cried all the way to school everyday, I remembered her while listening to the news today as Obama’s wife has the same name as that poor kido. I wonder if parents have ever beaten her, Obama’s wife I mean.

My mom however will tell you a different story, parents now threaten to go to the press if the teachers so much as warn the children of punishments, so my mom, a Teacher, feels that it is better to not get into controversies, what if the kids go bad in the bargain? Parents don’t seem to care vidya I do my best in straightening things out, she said, "but sometimes it doesn’t work, in those cases I has to overlook it, and not care about them, its not what we want to do, but then we don’t really have a choice."

"Kochu kutigal kuttam cheidhal Koolu mutaii, DANG dang"

My uncle used to say this to my when I was small, literally translated it means

When little kids make mistakes, they get ‘dang dang’ with a Lollypop.

The lollypop however referring to a cane/stick rather than its sweet equivalent. And ‘dang’ to a you know what. (Spanking!)

Even Enid Blyton’s hostel stories had an unwritten rule that badly behaved kids got a spank with the biggest hairbrush they could find.

If you have any ‘spanking stories’ or ‘naughty stories’ of how you almost got spanked post them in the comments section. I cant remember even one, I must’ve been a really good kid.

Ps- The title has the color Green, coz Green is therapeutic and so is a Spank.

Orange

Math, the four letter word i hated most in school, actually i kinda did well in it after 10th, but then i slogged, went for all the tuitions possible, and then by the end of it, i knew i d pass math, but i d spent so much of time on it that i got acute fear that i d fail all other subjects.. well people say someone who s dumb in math is generally dumb, hmm iam not dumb, jus tht i couldn't get those numbers right, i still count on my fingers once in a while, its ok to me now, i learnt it the hard way, its just that i wasn't made for math, 2 hrs of coaching in the morning, 2 hours after school and then night-study for another hour and of course not to forget all the school math classes that happened in between all of this. But then i can do enough math to survive, know much money i have left to go shopping, how much i should get back from a shop owner etc, so what if i dont know Trigonometry? what is it used for anyway? to send up rockets? well i launced enough rockets on Diwali to be happy about, without being good in trigonometry. hmmm math doesn't suck, but it hates me i can c.

See i told you, am smart!

I read this Agatha Christie yest and then dreamt that i was a character in it, its actually been a while since i read Christie so maybe it kinda got inside my head or something... lol, well anyway it was called 'and then there were none' you should read it if you are the crime type.

i also read 'the 3 mistakes of my life' by Chetan bhagat, i liked it, yes i did, though many people gave me bad reviews i went ahead and bought the book, it was a nice read, a rather believable story, maybe that's why most people dint like it, it has no magic, the romance is like an ordinary one, though sometimes it kinda was weird, and the story is a really cute and very realistic one.

was watching Suite life the other day and am totally in love with this guy Jessie Mcarty.

Well life is on a high, Loadsa work, loadsa funstuff and the like ,but there seem to be small time injuries to everyone, there wa Blood on ammas nose after a hair pin poked it, wierd! and then a small clock fell on my toes and there was so much of blood that everyone kinda paniced, though it dint really hurt much, am still wondering how such a small clock hurt me so badly, and then just now i hit my hand on the computer screen and the elessu i was wearing poked me and dang.... blood oozes out of my wrist, really strange.
and yea i saw 'Jaane tu ya jaane na' again in college yesterday, i decided i like it more than i liked it last time

and wish you all a happy Janmastami.

ps- tht s not the head of 'hangman'

Blue

Being ill is such a bad phase of life, i know people who love getting a sore throat and that occasional fever but me NAH! cant stand anything that keeps me from doing things... wasted my 3 day weekend on a stomach bug or food poisoning ot whatever you call it these days, and was home all weekend ... but then i did get to read some good stuff after the first two days when i was in bed all day. ehh! how i hate wasted days, had planned a hundred things to do and now with my not-fully ok self am trying to do everything in a hurry...
ok i ll stop making my blog a personal complaint cell, the gold medal is exciting stuff... India has arrived i d say. did you know that the gold and silver Olympic medals must be made out of 92.5 percent silver, with the gold medal covered in six grams of gold, found this online a while back, i always thought the olympics gold medal would be solid gold. Abhinav Bindra seems to have bcome the new Dhoni, i must admit ad ppl who have been on the lookout for a new kinda idol will love him and it helps that he is cute..
I expected sania mirza to make some news, pity she lost

Well havent seen a new movie in ages, can anyone recommend a good one?
Posting two songs i like(d), not able to get the second one out of my head.

I wandered lonely as a cloud…
I was just contemplating how life would be if I was a cloud, I d be cool and glide through the blue skies and look down on greedy selfish and stupid people, Float over rivers and parks. On second thoughts I d have to come down as rain, so I d rather be just me. My existence has become some kinda weird monotone song, that goes on and on with maybe the wrong notes, not a unhappy song, but definitely the wrong song, am not unhappy, just lonely.

So what does one do when stressed, which is like, every minute??? Go to a spa, hmm nice, but it gets boring there as well; my answer to stress is the four-letter word…. Yes ‘SHOP’ till you drop!

When in need

After searching for the perfect Anarkali for 3 days in around 14 shops, I finally found a blue one, and guess where, in the boutique closest to home, the one I thought I shouldn’t go coz its way too near my house, then on the fourth day I finally decided to go there and give it a shot too, I discovered that I should ve gone there first, instead of wasting all of my (and ammas) energy and petrol in checking out all the shops that exist in chennai.

Now this post is a shopping guide on places in chennai, you can shop at, if you are in chennai then you can check out places you haven’t been too, and incase you’ve never been to chennai then you can check some of these places the next time you are here.

Lets start right at the beginning, My most favorite shop is LIFESTYLE, now this shop has only branded stuff and really nice brands at that, most normal people in chennai shop at lifestyle, which explains why it is crowded throughout, you can catch a celebrity shopping here if you hang around for long, there is always some one popular there because of the availability of all major brands maybe,
Another reason why I totally love lifestyle is because they have clothes in my size, now all the other major shops have a very small selection range for ‘s’ (small size), I really don’t understand why though, and I am forced to buy pretty looking stuff in big sizes and alter it. (now, altering branded clothes is the worst thing ever, and my tailor charges me a Bomb for altering, sometimes even more than what he charges for stitching a new dress).
And this particular shop also has other stuff I like, like art, and décor and all those stuff I totally love to spend hours choosing. Also the favorable location of lifestyle makes it a hub of college people and celebrities alike, and of course if you get tired shopping there is a café coffee day right inside lifestyle, that is if you don’t want to go up to the food court. Once you are done shopping at lifestyle and you are on big budget you can go to GLOBUS, this place has lovely kurthis and salwar kameez sets; the prices are, like lifestyle on the higher side. I somehow don’t buy stuff from globus even though I go there often, WESTSIDE has a bevy of in-house brands that are really cool for college wear and the like and they also have most brands of jeans. The latest to join the bandwagon is STYLE ONE , which like its name has loadsa stylish stuff, it’s a huge shop, and has most major brands, but ofcourse most of the stuff is large, and even the medium is big for me, ahhh dumb people! If you are a woman/girl who wears medium or large sizes (meaning if you are fat) (hahaha, I like this) you could go to FABINDIA, they have really nice stuff in amazing materials, in BIG sizes, which again means it’s a no-no for me, but I love the stuff there though.

Now if u don’t want to buy branded or designer stuff (am not even going into the latter in this post) you could buy Tee-shirts, cute tops, party wear, cheap kurti/salwar materials. And really pretty (and hep) shoes from Besent nagar. This is a safe option for people who don’t like to venture into the crowded streets of T-nagar and the stuff is Besi is generally classier.
And you have these small shops near the beach that sell tees and skirts and accessories, and bright colored party tops that are actually export rejects but are perfect for those crazy parties coz you aren’t gona be spending a bomb.
Ahh iam tired now, ok if you want to go saree shopping then you can check out shops like, Nalli, Kumaran, Chennai silks and the like, for designer sarees just walk down cathedral road, you can find shops left right and centre.
Woeyyy,,,…. Even talking about shopping makes me happy! Happy shopping people!!
